Inside the Actors Studio to re-air Robin Williams show
Inside the Actors Studio will re-air its Robin Williams episode as a tribute to the late actor.
Williams was interviewed by James Lipton about his life and career on a 2001 episode of Inside the Actors Studio.
That episode was later voted the most popular show in Inside the Actors Studio history, and now Bravo has confirmed it will re-air the episode.
“There are so many reasons to grieve the loss of Robin Williams. One of the saddest is that he takes with him the multitude of characters he created – 52 of them in a 3-minute span in the film Aladdin,” said the Inside the Actors Studio host.
“If it is true that an actor’s talent lays in the role choices he or she makes, Robin’s talent was unmatchable. But we already knew that, didn’t we?”
Williams passed away last week in California from a suspected suicide.
Broadway dimmed its lights in Williams’s honour following his death, and a tribute at the Primetime Emmy Awards has also been confirmed to be in the works.
Bravo will air the episode on Thursday, August 21 at 8pm ET.
