Justin Bieber says he doesn’t give a f**k what critics say
Justin Bieber has revealed that he doesn’t care what critics say about him.
The 19-year-old told The Hollywood Reporter that he “doesn’t give a f**k what critics say about him”.
Bieber sat down for his first interview in nine months with The Hollywood Reporter, alongside his manager Scooter Braun.
“‘I don’t give a f**k what they say. I know who I am and what I’m doing in my life and what I’ve accomplished and continue to accomplish as a performer, as a writer, as an artist, as a person, as a human being. I’m happy with the man I’m becoming,” he told the magazine.
Braun also discussed how he tries not to interfere in the singer’s personal life.
“What I’ve come to learn is, be there, give the best advice you can, but he has to be able to make his own decisions – and his own mistakes,” said Bieber’s manager.
During the interview, Bieber also revealed that, alongside Eminem and Drake, Will Smith has been a great mentor to him and once pulled him out of bed for a three-hour talk. The two now have weekly phone calls.
Braun said: “[Will is] telling me, ‘Justin’s got to get through it. You can’t stop him from going through it. That’s youth in itself. He’s a young man who’s growing up, and that’s what makes him interesting and relatable. Otherwise, he’d be some kind of weird robot’.”
The singer also claimed that his life experiences have taught him not to trust others.
“I trust my mum and dad. I trust Scooter with my career – he’s always made sure I’m taken care of. That’s it,” said Bieber.
