Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z to headline Wireless Festival

Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z will headline Wireless Festival 2013.

The pair -who have collaborated on Justin’s comeback single Suit & Tie – will each close one night of the first Wireless to be held at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, East London.

Timberlake will headline the festival on Friday, July 12, and Jay-Z will close the event on Saturday, July 13.

“We’re incredibly excited to take [Wireless] to its new home, London’s iconic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and are delighted to secure Justin Timberlake and welcome back Jay-Z,” Steve Homer of Wireless promoters Live Nation told The Independent.

“Securing these two artists – Jay-Z for his only European performance of 2013 and Justin Timberlake for his only UK festival appearance this year – cements our reputation as a world class player on the festival circuit.”

Snoop Dogg, Trey Songz, Frank Ocean and John Legend are among Friday’s first confirmed acts for Wireless, which will take place at a specially-constructed arena on the Olympic Park site.

Emeli Sandé, Rita Ora, Calvin Harris and Kendrick Lamar will join Jay-Z on Saturday’s bill, while Miguel is scheduled to perform on both days.

Live Nation had previously pulled Wireless and Hard Rock Calling from Hyde Park, after writing a formal letter of complaint to the Royal Parks Agency (RPA) about its tender and bid process for a new five-year contract.

Tickets for Wireless go on sale on Friday, February 22 at 9am, priced at £57.50 for day tickets and £110 for weekend tickets. All prices exclude booking fees and postage charges.
