Kris Humphries slams pregnant Kim Kardashian for rushing divorce
Kris Humphries has told a court that he is upset over Kim Kardashian’s attempts to rush their divorce due to her pregnancy.
Humphries’s lawyer Marshall Waller has filed papers in which his client addresses Kardashian’s apparent desire to speed up divorce proceedings.
“What is really going on here is that an ‘urgency’ in the form of an apparently unplanned pregnancy, something [Humphries] had nothing to do with, is perceived by [Kardashian] as an opportunity to gain a litigation advantage by trying to force this court to prematurely set this matter for trial,” reads an extract from the court filing, seen by TMZ.
In the document’s footnote there is also reportedly a statement which reads: “Indeed, why would [Kim] plan to get pregnant in the midst of divorce proceedings?”
Humphries’s lawyer has reportedly said that Kardashian does not need to worry about any legal presumptions that her ex-husband would be the father of her baby – which could take effect as the couple were still married when she became pregnant with Kanye West’s child.
Waller has apparently explained to the court that Humphries is happy to stipulate that he is not the father of the baby.
The Brooklyn Nets player also said that he does want to be at Kardashian’s deposition, stating that he would be able to attend court sometime in mid-May or June when the current NBA season has concluded.
The judge is yet to rule in the former couple’s divorce proceedings.
