Kristen Stewart dropped from Snow White 2
Kristen Stewart has reportedly been dropped from the second Snow White movie.
The actress was expected to be returning to the franchise for Snow White and the Huntsman 2, but the sequel will now be a spinoff – The Huntsman – with Frank Darabont in line to direct, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
During the making of the first film in 2012, Stewart was reported to have had an affair with director Rupert Sanders, causing the end of his relationship to wife Liberty Ross and Stewart’s then boyfriend, Robert Pattinson.
In The Huntsman, Chris Hemsworth is returning to play the title role, alongside Charlize Theron as the villain.
The Walking Dead’s former showrunner Darabont is taking over from Sanders, whose 2012 movie took $396.6 million worldwide.
Darabont’s most recent feature was 2007’s The Mist, the latest in a series of Stephen King adaptations that he directed. He also worked on The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile.
The Huntsman is scheduled for a 2016 release.
