Liam Gallagher gatecrashes Man City press conference
Never shy of causing a scene, Liam Gallagher couldn’t resist a bit of media banter last night, gatecrashing Manchester City’s post-match press conference.
Following his team’s 1-0 victory over local rivals Manchester United, the former Oasis singer – now frontman of Beady Eye – spoke to reporters at the Etihad Stadium following the derby game.
Gallagher took a seat at the desk in the press room and told reporters that Sir Alex Ferguson “must have been blinded by the lights”, also quipping that the long-serving United manager “must have been on the whisky too much”.
Adding that City’s manager Roberto Mancini is “almost as cool as me,” Gallagher also revealed that he had watched the game from a box with goalscorer Vincent Kompany’s family.
“He scored a blinder, his family is mega and his sister is really cool,” the musician said. “Nice one, bro. Vive le Belgium!”
Gallagher also posted a photograph of himself with former Argentinian international Diego Maradona on his Twitter page, along with the caption “Maradona shakes the hand of God!”
Manchester City and Manchester City both have 83 points in the table with two Premier League matches left to play, although City are ahead of United on goal difference.
