Lindsay Lohan misses New York court date

Lindsay Lohan failed to appear in court  for her nightclub assault court case.

Lohan was arrested in New York over third degree misdemeanour assault in November, when The Mean Girls star is alleged to have punched a fellow clubber and called her a “f**king gypsy”.

TMZ reports that Lohan was scheduled to make her first court appearance for the case in New York Monday morning (7 Jan) but did not appear.

Prosecutors have delayed the proceedings and told the press that “the investigation into this case is continuing”.

Lohan’s former manager Mark Heller, who says he will be representing her during the case, claims that she is “a victim of someone trying to capture their 15 minutes of fame”.

The star of Liz and Dick has currently been staying in London, initially prompting speculation that she would be appearing on Celebrity Big Brother.
