Made in Chelsea’s Louise Thompson reveals she wasted a year on Spencer Matthews

Made in Chelsea’s Louise Thompson has revealed she wasted a year of her life trying to make her relationship with Spencer Matthews work.

The 22-year-old has opened up about their turbulent past, saying that the break up has left her feeling “really relieved.”

Recent reports of the couple’s break-up were confirmed when Matthews was seen dumping Thompson on Monday night’s (April 22) episode of the E4 reality show.

Thompson told new! magazine: “I’m the happiest I’ve been in a long time. Normally when you mourn a relationship, you are pretty upset, but I’m the opposite. It’s been such an emotional roller coaster. I just feel really relieved and happy it’s over.

“I’d been so depressed for the last four months of our relationship, I forgot what that was like. The day we broke up, I just suddenly found happiness again.”

Thompson added that she regrets taking Matthews back after he reportedly cheated on her and admitted that she “never fully trusted” the former Bachelor star after their reunion.

“He begged and begged for me back,” she continued. “I’ve obviously learned my lesson: never give people, well, fourth chances. I never should have got together with him. I feel like I wasted a whole year of my life on him.”

Thompson also criticised Matthews’s decision to allow their break-up to be used in Made in Chelsea, saying: “The sad thing is that he decided to do something like that on camera.

“At the time, we were arguing a bit and things weren’t great, but I’d come down from Edinburgh to sort things out.

“He refused to admit that we were going to break up, then did it in this monumental way just before Valentine’s Day. It was pretty horrific.”

The former couple’s Made in Chelsea co-star Oliver Proudlock recently said that he felt Matthews had a sense of “control” over Thompson, and added that he believes their split is for the best.
