Madonna’s stalker escapes from hospital
A “very violent” man jailed for stalking Madonna has escaped from a psychiatric hospital.
Robert Dewey Hoskins was jailed for ten years in 1996 after threatening to “slice” the MDNA star’s throat “from ear to ear” and breaking into her Los Angeles home, being shot by a security guard in the process.
Hoskins, who was determined to be a “mentally-disturbed offender”, was arrested again in July last year and sent to the Metropolitan State Hospital in Norwalk – which he walked out of unnoticed on Thursday (February 9), according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
“Hoskins is highly psychotic when not taking his medication and has very violent tendencies,” a spokesperson told The AP. “He could be in the Los Angeles area.”
Madonna testified during Hoskins’s trial that she suffered from recurring nightmares because of his actions.
A man was arrested and charged with burglary in March 2011 after breaking into Madonna’s London residence.
