McCoist gets vote of confidence from Green
Ally McCoist has been given a vote of confidence by the club’s chief executive following their humiliating defeat against Scottish minnows Stirling. Charles Green insists manager Ally McCoist is in no danger of losing his job.
The Ibrox club are still looking for their first league win away from home and suffered their first defeat in the Third Division after they were beaten 1-0 by bottom-of-the-table Stirling Albion on Saturday.
Green did claim the defeat to their Third Division rivals was an “embarrassment” but insisted there is plenty of time to put things right.
“There is no chance of Ally being sacked. Yes, Saturday’s defeat was an embarrassment. But no one more than Ally knows what happened at Stirling was unacceptable.
“We’ve got to get a lot of things sorted at the club and we’ve never said it was going to be easy.
“We are certainly not going to solve anything by dismissing the manager. Remember, the manager wasn’t on the field on Saturday, was he?”
“Ally has absolutely my 100% backing. We’ve got a fortnight now until our next game and that gives us all time to take stock, reflect and plan ahead.”
