Miley Cyrus tops UK chart
Miley Cyrus has scored her first UK number one single with We Can’t Stop, selling over 128,000 copies to reach the top spot.
It’s the 20-year-old’s first ever UK Top 10 single, with previous tracks ‘See You Again’, ‘The Climb’ and ‘Party in the USA’ all having peaked at number 11.
The star, who rose to fame as the lead in Disney show Hannah Montana, put an end to Swedish DJ Avicii’s three wee reign with ‘Wake Me Up.’
Tinie Tempah entered at number three with ‘Trampoline’, featuring 2 Chainz, ahead of his second studio release Demonstration, due out later this month.
Lana Del Rey’s Cedric Gervais remix of ‘Summertime Sadness’ stays at four. Robin Thicke drops two to five with longrunner ‘Blurred Lines’.
John Newman falls four to six with ‘Love Me Again’, while Jay Z and Justin Timberlake rise four spots to a new peak of seven with ‘Holy Grail’. Calvin Harris climbs one to eight with ‘Thinking About You’.
One Direction drop four spots to nine with ‘Best Song Ever’, followed by Icona Pop at ten with ‘I Love It’.
