MTV VMAs 2013: Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke shock crowd with duet
Miley Cyrus left fans gobsmacked during her provocative performance with Robin Thick at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards.
Performing at the New York ceremony, Miley joined Robin Thicke for a memorable version of Blurred Lines. rubbing fans and watching celebrities up the wrong way.
Cyrus’s explicit dancing as Thicke sang his controversial summer hit prompted some shocked reactions from the audience and viewers at home.
Following Cyrus’s own performance of ‘We Can’t Stop’, the 20-year-old stripped to a flesh-coloured two piece and acted as backing dancer for the R&B artist.
After shedding her grey one-piece, Cyrus was joined by Thicke, wearing a black-and-white striped suit, and began to dance, twerk and grind around the 36-year-old, in an homage to the much-talked about music video.
While celebrities including Ellie Goulding sang along at the Barclays Center, others weren’t so kind with both Jaime King and Brooklyn Decker taking to Twitter to slam the young starlet.
Neither actress was impressed with Miley’s performance, which included her shaking her butt in Robin’s face and rubbing up against him, and both made veiled but catty comments on the social networking site.
Even Rihanna – who’s not shy herself on stage – and Will Smith and his family, looked on in amazement as the 21-year-old gyrated around stage, leaving her peers lost for words.
