‘N Sync’s Chris Kirkpatrick rules out reunion tour
‘N Sync’s Chris Kirkpatrick says has ruled out the chance of the 90’s boyband reuniting for a tour after their spectacular performance at Sunday’s VMAs.
The singer told Miami, Florida, radio show Johnny’s House that while the VMA reunion was fun, the band broke up for a reason and do not plan on getting back together.
Chris, alongside Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Chris, Joey Fatone, and Lance Bass enjoyed world success in the 90’s, going their separate ways in 2002.
When asked by host Johnny House if a tour will be happening, the 41-year-old was emphatic about it.
“No this was for Justin to get the Video Vanguard Award.”
‘It was funny because all of us getting back together we remembered what we love about each other and what we hate about each other.
“It was just a bit of fun.”
While fans were blown away by the band’s VMA medley of hits Girlfriend, Gone, and Bye Bye Bye, Chris revealed it was pretty tough on the guys who have not stayed on top of their dancing skills like Justin.
“Honestly when he talked to us I thought we were just coming out with mic stands and singing, and when I came home from rehearsals my girl’s like ‘Why are you drenched?.”
“I’m like I’m too old for this.”
Keeping the performance a secret was also hard Chris said, but his biggest concern was always Justin.
“When we were doing rehearsals in Miami I was scared to death.
“I was so worried about not messing up for him.”
Band mate J.C. Chasez also ruled out a tour while talking to Ryan Seacrest, telling him: “No … it was just about five guys who were great friends who spent 10 or 15 years together touring and we wanted to give that back to our fans, but we were there mainly to support Justin.”
Another reason a reunion isn’t on the cards could be that some members still feel it’s the Justin show.
According to Us Weekly the band was disappointed that Justin limited their set.
A source told Us: “They were pushing for more.
“While he was thrilled they could come for him, he didn’t want the reunion to be the whole thing. They originally were told that it was going to be more of their old hits, not just Bye Bye Bye – but then Justin reworked it.”
