NBA: Nuggets stop Cavaliers winning streak
Cleveland Cavaliers’ winning run met a surprising end in Monday’s NBA action as they lost 106-97 to the Denver Nuggets.
The Nuggets went to Cleveland having lost seven of eight, while the Cavs were on a four-game winning streak.
But despite the best efforts of LeBron James, who top-scored for the home side with 22 points, it was a rejuvenated Denver who left with the win.
Five Nuggets players amde double figures, Ty Lawson scoring 24 points and Arron Afflalo adding 23.
Elsewhere Mike Conley scored 19 points as the Memphis Grizzlies easily defeated the Houston Rockets 119-93 in a matchup of the teams with the NBA’s two best records – both 9-1 beforehand.
And Philadelphia’s awful start to the season continued as a 100-75 defeat to San Antonio made it 10 straight defeats.
