NFL: Andrew Luck steers Indianapolis Colts to shock win over Green Bay Packers

Andrew Luck led the Indianapolis Colts back from 18 points down to grab a dramatic 30-27 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

Luck and Reggie Wayne were the stars of the fightback, the pair combining with 35 seconds remaining to grab the winning touchdown.

Luck completed 31 of 55 passes for a career-high 362 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception, while Wayne caught 13 passes for a career-high 212 yards and the game-winning, four-yard score.

It was a great end to a bad week for the Colts, one which had begun with the news that head coach Chuck Pagano was being treated for leukaemia.

Down 21-3 at the interval, the Colts took their chances in the second half.

With interim coach Bruce Arians in charge, Luck threw an eight-yard TD pass to Dwayne Allen, then set up Adam Vinatieri for a 50-yard field goal to make it 21-13 midway through the third quarter.

Luck himself then scored on a three-yard run and few minutes later, the Colts took their first lead on Vinatieri’s 28-yard field goal.

However, Green Bay weren’t done as Aaron Rodgers got their offense going. Alex Green ran 41 yards on the Packers’ first play, and Rodgers threw an eight-yard TD pass to James Jones on the next one, giving Green Bay a 27-22 lead with 4:30 left.

But Luck had one more chance. The rookie quarterback marched Indianapolis 80 yards in 13 plays, converting three third-down chances before hooking up with Wayne for the decisive score.

Green Bay had a chance to force overtime, but Mason Crosby missed a 51-yard field goal to the left.

Victory moves the Colts to 2-2 for the season; the Packers slip to 2-3.
