NFL: Week 2 preview
Week 2 will be a chance for the teams who won their first match to solidify their divisional standings and edge out in front of their rivals.
A strong start can be very important for a team’s confidence and give them a belief their campaign can go all the way to the bowl, but who has what it takes to go all the way in the gridiron.
Here are my picks for teams likely to grab back to back wins this week:
New England Patriots – Pats head coach Bill Belichick has a strong record against rookie QB’s so the Jets new trigger man Geno Smith will have to bring his A-game.
Indianapolis Colts – Andrew Luck and co will topple the Dolphins in Indianapolis to go 2 and 0.
Houston Texans – The Texans should win with ease against Tennessee as QB Matt Shaub looked on the ball in week 1 firing accurate passes to both wide receivers and tight ends.
Denver Broncos – The Broncos are the team everyone wants to avoid after their incredible week 1 performance. Expect plenty more Manning touchdown passes.
Philadelphia Eagles – Michael Vick’s offence looked very impressive at least for the first half of last week’s match against the Redskins. I expect head coach Chip Kelly will have ironed out any problems of their new hurry up offence during the week and will be ready for Philip Rivers and the Chargers.
New Orleans Saints – Sorry to use this rather obvious pun but I expect the Saints to ‘Brees’ past the Tampa Bay Bucs this weekend into a back to back win streak. Drew looks like he has found his rhythm early on and we can expect the usual high yardage from him.
