One Direction and The Wanted continue their Twitter feud

The boyband war between One Direction and The Wanted continued on Twitter today, as members from both bands traded insults with the world hanging on their every word.

The war of words began when The Wanted’s Tom Parker questioned why One Direction keep making references to them on their tour.

Tom tweeted the Doncaster-born singer, saying: “@Louis_Tomlinson you even talk about us at your own gigs. Are you that upset you didn’t get in this band?”

During One Direction’s London show on April 6th, Louis had mentioned the band, sarcastically saying: “Jake Bugg is supporting The Wanted. Best gig ever.”

However he did say after that “we love those people” and “appreciate those artists.”

The niceties soon ended when Louis tweeted: “@TomTheWanted Pal, we both know I wouldn’t waste my time auditioning for your band. You humour me with your bad boy persona.”

The One Direction star then tweeted a link to a Metro story that detailed Tom’s sadness after a failed X Factor audition.

Tom then shared a video of a young Louis and his audition on the talent show, writing “you were too busy “wowing the judges” with THIS #louisgottalent #nicework (sic).”

He then struck a nerve by mentioning Louis’ apparent need to “beg” producers to feature on tracks: “Yes @Louis_Tomlinson, I don’t need to call producers to beg my way on to a track over my “friends” #crybaby #loyalty #louisgottalent (sic).”

Angrily Louis replied: “@TomTheWanted Interesting you have to entertain your many followers with lies. I actually think you could be the biggest t***on twitter.”

Continuing to go back and forth, Louis bandmate Liam Payne joined in the war of words by insulting Tom’s singing.

“@TomTheWanted @Louis_Tomlinson hey Tom lets talk about your singing your amazing tone pierces my ears with every note :/” he tweeted.

Fans of both bands were quick to jump to the defence of each group, while The Wanted’s Jay McGuiness posted a longer message directed to Tomlinson: “Dear @Louis_Tomlinson, please stop mentioning us in your gigs, we certainly no longer mention you and it’s time to let dead dogs lie.

“Your passive-aggressive style of speaking makes me cringe, and I wish you’d either have the b*llocks of some of your co-workers to speak truthfully, or the class of the majority of them to be silent.

“I’m not sure what’s happened since we saw you at The X Factor, but you’ve done a sterling job of becoming one of the most overrated, arrogant and not to mention insincere people around.

“Your shocking lack of talent will only be forgiven by lots of humility and no-strings-attached friendship among your band. Louis, don’t measure your worth in followers or money, because they’re fickle, and when they go you might just feel worthless.”
