Papac agrees Rangers contract extension
Sasa Papac has agreed a one-year contract extension with SPL champions Rangers.
The Bosnian defender’s current deal was due to expire this summer. There had been speculation that he may leave the club but agreement has been reached that will see Papac remain at Ibrox and form part of Ally McCoist’s team next season.
Papac is one of several players who has a contract that is set to expires this summer.
He was signed by Paul Le Guen – and indeed is the only surving signing from that era – in August 2006 from Austria Vienna and arrived in Scotland as a left-sided centre back.
But under Walter Smith he slotted into a left-back role and made the position his own.
Speaking on Monday he said: “I have to say I am not just a player for Rangers now, I am a supporter as well. I have had beautiful five years in Glasgow and with this club.”
