Pixar delay release of Finding Dory and The Good Dinosaur
Pixar have pushed back the release of their two upcoming films Finding Dory and The Good Dinosaur.
The Good Dinosaur – originally scheduled for release on May 30, 2014 – will now reach cinemas on November 25, 2015, while the Finding Nemo sequel, Finding Dory, has been delayed until summer 2016.
This means that 2014 will be the first year since 2005 that the studio won’t be releasing a film.
Pixar’s president Ed Catmull explained that Pixar weren’t happy with the creative development of The Good Dinosaur.
“Nobody ever remembers the fact that you slipped a film, but they will remember a bad film,” said Ed.
“Our conclusion was that we were going to give the [dinosaur] film some more time.”
Bob Peterson was sacked as The Good Dinosaur’s director earlier this summer, with a replacement yet to be announced.
Disney is moving Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie, up from July to May next year to fill the release gap.
