Scotland legend Kenny Dalglish: Quality of Craig Levein’s squad is improving

KENNY DALGLISH last night insisted Scottish players are on the way back – despite the dismal results of our club sides in European football.

The country’s most-capped player is relishing the Euro 2012 double-header against the Czech Republic and Lithuania at Hampden.

And he believes Craig Levein’s men can give our game a shot in the arm after Rangers, Celtic, Hearts and Dundee United were dumped out of Europe.

The Liverpool boss said: “Maybe the club results in Europe do not endorse it but I think Scottish players are improving. There are some positive signs coming through in Craig Levein’s squad.

“It is great we now have some guys playing regularly in the Premiership.”
