Rik Mayall’s wife speaks about comedian’s death

Rik Mayall’s wife Barbara Robbin has spoken in public following the comedian’s sudden death yesterday.

Robbin said that she doesn’t suspect a heart attack was the cause of her husband’s sudden death, according to reports.

Speaking outside their family home in Barnes, South West London, Robbin told reporters: “We don’t know yet what happened. He had a strong heart, so I don’t think it was a heart attack. But we just don’t know until the coroner’s report.

“Maybe he had a fit, maybe it was his heart. We just don’t know,” she suggested.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said that Mayall’s death is not being treated as suspicious.

Mayall is survived by Robbin, who he married in 1985, and their three children Rosie, Sidney and Bonnie.
