SJP denies she’s taking over from Vogue editor Anna Wintour
Sarah Jessica Parker has denied reports that she is to take over from Vogue editor Anna Wintour when the fashion matriarch retires.
On Thursday RadarOnline reported the 48-year-old actress was being groomed to fill Anna Wintour’s shoes once the iconic editor stepped down, but the Sex & the City star’s representative told MailOnline the story was “false” and a spokesperson for Vogue added “the subject has never come up between the friends.”
SJP played a writer who contributed to Vogue on Sex And The City, but it would seem that’s as close as the actress wants to get to joining the staff of the US fashion bible.
Anna and SJP have a close friendship and are often spotted at fashion events together, but the mother of three is reportedly too busy with her film career to take on the role.
“It would be a fun thing for her, but she already has so much on her plate it’s not an option and she actually has never considered it before,” a source told MailOnline.
The Vogue representative told MailOnline: “Anna and Sarah Jessica have been friends for a long time and the idea of Sarah Jessica taking Anna’s position at Vogue has never been discussed.”
