Spice Girls musical set to ‘open’ in December
The Spice Girls musical is to premiere before Christmas, a report has suggested.
Viva Forever will open at the Piccadilly Theatre in December, according to the Daily Mail. Ghost the Musical, which is currently playing at the venue, is believed to be closing this autumn as a result.
Auditions for Viva Forever are apparently due to begin next month, with rehearsals to follow in September and the first previews in November. Representatives for both musicals are yet to make comment.
Earlier this year, Melanie C dismissed rumours that Viva Forever had been delayed due to a difference of opinion between her and Mel B over the finer points of the project.
She said that she was “starting to get very irritated” with the claims.
Melanie C is also due to appear as Mary Magdalene in an arena tour of Jesus Christ Superstar alongside BBC Radio 1 breakfast show host Chris Moyles (playing King Herod).
Musician and comedian Tim Minchin will also appear in the role of Judas.
