SPL reveal post-split fixtures
The Scottish Premier League has confirmed the fixtures that will follow the league split and complete the season.
Following this weekend’s round of games, the top and bottom six teams in the league will separate, as per league rules.
The final Glasgow derby of the season will be played at Celtic Park on April 29 with a key battle at the other end of the table when Hibernian host Dunfermline scheduled for May 7.
If they win the SPL title before the fixture takes place, STV understands Celtic will not be presented with the trophy at the Rangers game.
Discussions are still to take place over the specific game the club will receive the trophy. However, the final game of the 2011/12 season, a televised home match with Hearts on May 13, appears the most likely presentation date.
As a result of the split, St Johnstone will suffer an imbalance in their number of home and away games they will play. Only 18 of their matches this season will be played at McDiarmid Park, with 20 away fixtures being played.
The Saints will also have to play a third away game this campaign against both Celtic and Motherwell, but will face both Rangers and Dundee United for a third time at home.
Kilmarnock gain an additional home game, playing 20 times in the SPL this season at Rugby Park, with the league moving to rectify an imbalance in games caused in 2006/07.
