SPOTTED: Ian Somerhalder marries Nikki Reed in secret ceremony
Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed married in a secret ceremony in Santa Monica.
The Vampire Diaries actor and his Twilight actress fiancée tied the knot on Sunday in a romantic ceremony in the Santa Monica mountains.
Ian and Nikki married in front of only their closest friends and family on an idyllic mountainside.
The pair, who have enjoyed a nine-month whirlwind relationship, looked besotted with one another, with Ian being caught taking candid shots of his bride on his mobile phone.
Nikki, who was previously married to singer-songwriter Paul McDonald, was pictured wearing a stunning white lace long-sleeved gown while Ian donned a suit and tie.
With her hair worn to one side and in flowing curls, she pinned her locks in place with an exquisite diamond slide as she carried an elegant floral bouquet.
In his first task as a married man, Ian carried his bride down a muddy slope so that her dress didn’t get dirty, before they shared a sweet kiss among their gathered friends and relatives.
The Vampire Diaries star confirmed the wedding had taken place on his Twitter, where he gushed about the big day, tweeting “most beautiful morning ever…”
Nikki previously gushed about her man while attending the Catdance Festival at Sundance on Saturday, where she said: “He’s so beautiful inside and out!”
“He’s quite possibly the most amazing man that’s ever walked the planet, it’s crazy. I’m so lucky, I love him.”
Earlier in January, In Touch magazine claimed the hunk popped the question to the star during the holiday season.
Ian had previously dated his Vampire Diaries co-star Nina Dobrev for three years before splitting in 2013.
Ian’s Vampire Diaries co-star Kat Graham recently confessed that she believes the couple are true ‘soul mates’.
