Stars turn out for the Met Gala in New York

The streets of New York glistened with celebrities last night as they turned out in the finest threads to attend this year’s Met Gala Ball.

With the museum celebrating the opening of its exhibition dedicated to courturier Charles James, many embraced old school elegance in the most romantic of dresses.

A sea of ballgowns sweeping down the red carpet on the likes of co-chair Sarah Jessica Parker, Karolina Kurkova, Katie Holmes, Karlie Kloss, Taylor Swift, Claire Danes and Suki Waterhouse, with Bradley Cooper, Benedict Cumberbatch, Neil Patrick Harris and the Beckhams attending the swanky Met Ball in their finest attire.

The annual fundraising gala, which benefits the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, is attended by those who can afford the $25,000 price tag.

Cropped tops, offering a hint of midriff, teamed with a long skirt were worn by Emma Stone, Rihanna and Anne Hathaway.
