Strictly Come Dancing launch to clash with X Factor

Strictly Come Dancing is set to clash with X Factor when it returns to screens next month.

The 12th series of the BBC dancing competition will return to BBC One on Sunday, September 7 at 8pm, meaning it will go up against the latest instalment of The X Factor.

The special episode will introduce the celebrities of the new series, before revealing their professional partners. The competition will then begin properly later in the month.

Earlier today, Caroline Flack became the 12th celebrity to be confirmed for the series.

Flack joins Scott Mills, Jake Wood, Frankie Bridge, Judy Murray, Thom Evans, Steve Backshall, Alison Hammond, Simon Webbe, Mark Wright and Sunetra Sarker in the latest series.

Four more contestants are still to be revealed ahead of the show’s return.
