The Killers stop gig half way through set

The Killers cancelled their UK concert in Manchester last night after just four songs, when lead singer Brandon Flowers informed the crowd that he was suffering from a sore throat, before apologising halfway through the fifth song and leaving the stage.

“They played ‘Mr Brightside’ and it sounded fine,” said the Manchester Evening News’s media reporter Katherine Vine. “I thought it was going to be great.

“But after the third song, ‘Smile Like You Mean It’, Brandon said that his voice had gone and that he had a Chinese remedy drink so he would take that.

“They started the [fifth] song but he didn’t sing a lot of it and was motioning to the rest of the band that he could not carry on.

“They left the stage and then a bloke came out and said that the gig was cancelled.”

The Manchester Arena has now confirmed on its official website that the band’s gig due to take place tonight (November 14) has also been postponed.

Ticketholders have been advised to hold onto their tickets and contact their point of purchase for further information.
