The Wanted confirmed for Olympic Torch gig

The Wanted have been confirmed for Birmingham’s Olympic Torch Relay live show.

The group will play the event alongside Loick Essien and Morning Parade on June 30 at Canon Hill Park.

Tom Parker said: “Coca-Cola’s City Celebrations are going to be an incredible mix of music and sport. We are so excited to be performing.

“This is a chance for everyone in the UK to experience the magic of The Games. Get a ticket and get involved!”

Director of the Olympic Torch Relay James Williams said: “We are taking some of the nation’s best loved musical talent on the road for an incredible 66-night tour to give young people across the country the chance to participate in the magic of London 2012.”

Tickets for the free event have been open since February 27 and close April 11 at 10pm.

Similar Olympic Torch shows are due to be held in Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds and London throughout the summer.
