The Wanted insist they haven’t cracked the US yet
The Wanted have played down their recent US success and have described the impact over there has been ‘shocking’ to them.
The British boyband recently cracked the American market with their massive hit ‘Glad You Came’, and have since announced possible collaborations with Justin Bieber and Chris Brown.
However, it would seem the boys aren’t letting the success go to their heads, insisting they haven’t fully made it overseas yet as they’ve only had one hit so far.
Max George told Daybreak: “It’s been long and tiring but it’s been pretty shocking for us, in a good way. The reception in the US has been amazing, like it was here. We’ve loved every minute of it.
“It’s just a start, but we haven’t cracked it yet, we’ve just had one single.”
Tom Parker added: “It’s always been a goal [cracking the US]. It’s every band’s goal. It’s just a good time for British music with One Direction, Coldplay and Jessie J. We didn’t go over with much expectation.”
Parker later revealed that they may purchase homes in the US “as a base”, but will always consider the UK to be home.
“Our home will always be in the UK,” he added. “The more we spend over there we might get a base over there, hotels can be a bit much. Mini-bars are really breaking my bank account!”
George also explained that he has seen his girlfriend Michelle Keegan since they returned to the UK, saying: “We’ve had the weekend off, so I spent the day with her yesterday, she’s great. It is the way it is, you just make the most of it. shes works harder than I do.”
