The Wanted’s Siva Kaneswaran signs for modelling agency

The Wanted’s Siva Kaneswaran has added a new string to his bow, signing to modelling agency Next Models.

The singer, who started modelling aged 15 with his brother Kumar, will work on worldwide campaigns with the agency.

“I have always enjoyed modelling and am very keen on keeping up-to-date with fashion so it’s a natural progression for me to pick this back up,” said Siva.

“I’m excited to be working with the team at Next Models on my fashion positioning.”

The 24-year-old explained that he has missed the world of modelling since joining The Wanted.

“Although I am on stage a lot performing, and often on music related photo shoots with my band The Wanted, I do really miss the kind of shoots you do as a model, that really focus on fashion and the art of photography,” he said.

“Fashion editorial shoots have a whole different vibe about them, so I am excited to be doing that again.”

Kaneswaran also admitted that his Wanted bandmates think he is the “most fussy” when it comes to styling.

“My modelling experience definitely prepared me for having confidence in front of a camera and knowing what looks good on me clothes wise.

“The boys in my band would think that I am most fussy when it comes to fittings, styling and shoots but I just know what looks good on me and I like looking smart.”

The London based agency released a statement: “Next are delighted to have signed Siva worldwide and we look forward to working with him on his fashion positioning moving forward.”

They have previously signed singers Lana Del Rey and Ellie Goulding to their books.
