Tom Hardy blasted for tomb-stoning off 30ft cliff

Tom Hardy has been blasted for tomb-stoning off a 30ft cliff while filming a credit card advert.

The actor has been called irresponsible for tomb-stoning off the same cliff where a man died in 2007.

The actor appears in the advert in which a man jumps off a cliff and into water at Berry Head National Nature Reserve in Brixham, Devon, in a black and white commercial for Hyundai.

It was filmed in the exact spot where Delwyn Jones died in 2007 while on a holiday with family and friends.

In the advert, filmed for the company's Korean market, the actor is also seen swimming in gold water

While it’s not clear whether Mr Hardy carried out the stunt himself or used a double, emergency services have slammed him for taking part.

‘Tom Hardy is a role model and young people look up to him. It is really sending out the wrong message,’ a spokesman for Berry Head Coastguard said.

Speaking of the film makers, he continued: ‘They obviously didn’t do their research about tomb-stoning very well for the advert, because it is extremely dangerous.

‘Tom Hardy, or his stunt double, wasn’t wearing a wetsuit either and it was filmed in October, so the water would have been freezing cold.’
