Uptown Funk takes 2015 title
Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’s ‘Uptown Funk’ was officially the biggest selling single of 2015.
The catchy tune, with a combined sales and streaming total of 1.76 million, spent a total of seven weeks at No.1 in the UK, while staying in the Top 40 from January until October.
The single, that was originally made popular after X Factor’s Fleur East sang it on the show, fast became the biggest dance hit of the year, with OMI’s summer smash ‘Cheerleader’ trailing just behind with a combined sales total of 1.52 million.
Hozier’s ‘Take Me To Church’ finished third on the end of year chart with combined sales of 1.25 million, while Ellie Goulding’s Fifty Shades of Grey single ‘Love Me Like You Do’ is fourth with 1.19 million combined sales.
