What Happened on Deadline Day?

Another transfer deadline day has been and gone, most of us fans love it, but for the managers and players it must be a nightmare.

Their key players are linked with everyone, some stay and some go, but one thing is for certain everyone will wake up a little happier this morning now that the window is firmly shut.

The transfer coup of yesterday has to be Harry Redknapp’s signing of Scott Parker for £6 million from West Ham to Tottenham Hotspur.

The England international, last year’s player of the year by the Football Writers’ Association, surely is a snip at that price and will go a long way to giving Spurs another great season.

Surprise move of the day goes to Owen Hargreaves switching to rivals Manchester City on a free. There is no doubting Hargreaves ability as a player, but after his injury ravaged time at City’s rivals Manchester United why would the mega rich City take on the injury jinxed player.
Other noticeable moves were Mikel Arteta’s £10m movie from Everton to Arsenal, Craig Bellamy to Liverpool and Peter Crouch from Tottenham to Stoke for £10m.
