will.i.am says celebrities only go into fashion for money

Will.i.am has revealed he believes celebrities create their own fashion line for money rather than their passion for fashion.

The Voice UK judge, who has a range of iPhone accessories, suggested that most are not passionate about clothes and fashion.

When asked by Metro International why celebrities branch out, he said: “You want my honest opinion? Their manager told them that they could make some money here.”

However, he did say he respects Kanye West, who has clothing label APC, saying he believes the rapper is passionate about getting people to wear his designs.

”Kanye’s game is that he wants to design. He’s saying, ‘I want you guys to see my stuff’. That’s dope, right? He’s not playing the usual [celebrity] game – he’s passionate.”

Will.i.am, who recently collaborated with Japanese label Rynshu, also stated that he enjoys changing his look so that people don’t copy his style.

”When you see [my] silhouette out multiple times on people that you probably wouldn’t want to hang out with – that’s why I hit up Rynshu, Loveless, Verbal and Yoon in Japan.

”I go to all the little cool spots that are rare enough, so I don’t look like everybody else. I need to have some oddities, dude!”
