X Factor: Abi Alton rushed to hospital after fall

X Factor contestant Abi Alton was taken to hospital by ambulance last night after she injured her back after falling down stairs backstage at the show.

An X Factor spokesperson has said Abi’s hospital dash was a precaution, and the 19-year-old was seen strapped onto a stretcher and being loaded into an ambulance.

Abi’s injury was first explained by The Xtra Factor host Caroline Flack, who revealed the reason  the teen was absent from the X Factor spin-off show.

“She has actually hurt her back so she has gone to have her back checked. She is absolutely fine. I think she’s going to be ok.” said Caroline.

Abi had appeared earlier on the results show, after it was also reported earlier this week that Abi had been suffering from a mystery illness which saw her vomit in the car on the way to rehearsals.

Abi took to Twitter in the early hours to let her fans know she was out of hospital and would be “right as rain in no time”.
