X Factor: Hannah Barrett eliminated after sing off with Rough Copy

Hannah Barrett  became the seventh contestant voted off the X Factor.

The former Greggs worker lost her place on the show after a sing-off with Rough Copy.

Hannah took on ‘I’d Rather Go Blind’ by Etta James in the sing-off, while Rough Copy performed Oasis’s ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’.

Scherzinger revealed that she was “furious” with the British public for putting Barrett in the bottom two for a third time. She chose to stand by her act and send home Rough Copy.

Gary Barlow and Sharon Osbourne applauded both acts for their performances, but each voted to send home Barrett.

Louis Walsh said that neither act should leave the competition as they remembered their lyrics, suggesting that he believed Tamera Foster should have been in the bottom two.

He reluctantly voted to send Hannah home and sealed her fate.

“I just want to say I feel so blessed. I’m so thankful for everything I have,” Hannah told Dermot O’Leary.

“Like I said if it was anyone I had to be in the bottom two with it would be Rough Copy. We’re like family.

“I am upset and disappointed, but this isn’t the end it’s the beginning, and we’re on tour so it’s gonna be good.”

“This is my third time in the bottom two, so I kind of knew so I accepted it.

“This show has allowed me to to be myself, sometimes a little bit too extra, but I’ve had so much fun so whoever doesn’t like me then that’s them, but I’ve had so much fun on the show.”

The weekends action seen One Direction, JLS, Mary J Blige and Jessie J all perform.

The X Factor continues next Saturday (November 30) at 8pm on ITV.

James Arthur and Rebecca Ferguson will perform on next Sunday’s (December 1) results show.
