X Factor: Melanie Masson in talks for debut album
Melanie Masson is reportedly already in talks to sign an album deal a mere two days after being voted off The X Factor.
The Scottish singer was sent home by viewers on Sunday night following a sing-off with boyband District 3, which seen the show sent to deadlock for the second week in a row.
Melanie described her time on the show as amazing and revealed she’s already got offers of a record contract.
“I’m quite excited about what the future is going to hold. It’s been amazing,” 44-year-old Melanie told the Daily Record.
“I already have so many opportunities and that’s just been in the first 24 hours of leaving the show.
“I’m going to meetings today and am in talks about lot of things at the moment. I want to do a record, my album.
“That’s what I really want to do and I have a lot to be excited about and grateful for.”
Melanie, from Cathcart, Glasgow, lives in London with her movie actor husband Forbes Masson and children Rua, five, and Ramsay, three.
She doesn’t know if she’ll be on the X Factor Live shows but vowed to return to Scotland to play gigs.
“We don’t know anything about the tour yet and who is going to be on it. If I’m asked, I’ll definitely do it. It would be great to be part of it and return to Scotland to see family and friends. I’m hoping to do that anyway and do shows in Scotland.”
Melanie revealed tensions have been running high backstage between Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh after their spat over Carolynne Poole’s departure.
“There definitely is tension between Louis and Gary and a lot of daggers when they look at each other.
“They keep apart for most of their time on the show.”
